What I'm reading

I’m enjoying this book so much I won’t let myself finish it. I wonder if anyone else does that. It’s relatively short, under 200 pages; the kind of book you could snuggle up with and finish in a day. I bought it like 2 months ago and still have a bunch of chapters to go.

What I like about it- after taking a weekend workshop with MaryAnn, I had a significantly substantial burst of personal growth in my mediumship journey. Something about MaryAnn and her teaching allowed me to connect dots I didn’t even know needed connecting. I returned from the weekend with her and launched this website- imperfect and probably not quite right, but launched anyway. Being available to help those I could help was and is far more important that getting every aesthetic perfect. But this book is teaching me so much more. Probably the biggest takeaway is the need to authentically dedicate myself to daily practice. Each day for weeks I meditated and took notes on my experiences. And taking this advice has lead me to deeper, more significant readings.

I’ve appreciated the discussion on ego, and how to recognize when and how it shows up. What an important consideration in this work. Having confidence and trust in the abilities is essential and recognizing where ego lies is an absolute must.

Maryann talks about boundaries, and chakras, guides and doubt. Maryann shows us how to dedicate ourselves to deepen abilities, whether we’re a beginner or an established practitioner. Definitely this is one I’d recommend.
